~ 2016 & 2017 Recap - A Few of our Student's Achievements ~

Our '30 Piece Challenge'

Running for the first time in 2016, there were several who chose to participate at this level - after all, 30 pieces in a year is a pretty big effort!

Congratulations to:

Georgia, Adeline, Elijah, Isabelle, Kirra, Adam and Isabella for learning over 30 pieces each - Well Done!

Making an effort to master a great number of pieces has many benefits - especially in terms of improving sight-reading, technique and musicality.

Its pretty logical really - the more pieces you learn, the more music you know!

Our '40 Piece Challenge'

This was the third year in a row we have offered the '40 Piece Challenge' - and make no mistake, this is a very big challenge for those choosing to get involved!

Congratulations to:

        40+ Pieces: Riley and Joshua

        50+ Pieces: Lana

        60+ Pieces: Rhy and Marley

        70+ Pieces: Chelsea

        80+ Pieces: Rianna

Yes, I kid you not - these students really have achieved this many pieces - well done to you all!

And yes, Rianna has set a new studio record with her 80+ pieces!

Congratulations to Helen - winner of the 2015 Nan Price Scholarship!

~ 2015 Newcastle 'Nan Price Scholarship' Winner ~

Congratulations to Helen on taking out first place of $500 in the 2015 Nan Price Scholarship.  A wonderful result, as this scholarship is quite a prestigious and competitive award for advanced piano levels.

Helen is pictured here with the adjudicator, AMEB examiner, Ann O'Hearn.

We also appreciate the Newcastle Music Teachers Association maintaining this annual event,  with such a high standard of competition, providing something worthy for advancing pianists to aspire to.

Congratulations to Alex - gaining your AMusA & ATCL!

~ Congratulations to Alex on achieving his AMusA and ATCL ~

Congratulations to Alex, who finished his studies with Anne, passing his A.Mus.A. Performance Exam, and also his A.T.C.L. (London) Piano Recital Exam with a Distinction - a well deserved result.

In May 2015 Alex received his A.Mus.A. award at the Australian Music Examination Board (AMEB) awards ceremony at NSW University, Sydney.  As this was the culmination of a lot of study, practice and hard work it was certainly an important highlight of the year for him.

~ Our 2016 Christmas Concerat Mayfield & Koombahla Aged Care ~

Our Christmas Aged Care Concerts are a wonderful opportunity to share our music skills, and bring some Christmas cheer to others - and its great performance experience for students!

Thank you to all those who came along and played their favourite pieces.  It was a lovely experience - the residents and staff enjoyed it greatly, and they are looking forward to us playing for them again next year!
